Chicks sweep Southeast in two blowouts

— The Chickasha High School baseball team got two easy district wins this week against the Southeast High School Spartans on Monday and Tuesday.

The wins improved Chickasha's record to 24-4, and the Chicks are ranked No. 3 in class 5A behind No. 1 Carl Albert and No. 2 Claremore.

Southeast has only won one game this season, and Chickasha wasn't going to allow that to change, beating the Spartans 11-1 in the first game and 12-0 in the second game.

Chickasha's next games will be in McAlester for the annual 5A Shootout tournament.

Chickasha has already beaten the No. 1 team in the state this season, and they'll get a shot at No. 2 when they face Claremore at 10 a.m. today.

In the second game Thursday, Chickasha will play Collinsville. which is 9-13 and ranked No. 15.

That game will take place at 12:30 p.m.
