River Bend north 9 to get green work

CHICKASHA —

The north nine at River Bend golf course will be closed next week as crews begin work on the greens.

Work will begin either Sunday or Monday to improve the course's condition. After inspection earlier this month, both course officials and Chickasha Chamber of Commerce members organizing their 27th annual golf tournament decided to move it from River Bend to Winter Creek Country Club in Blanchard. The four-man scramble is still scheduled for June 20.

The work is expected to be complete some time this summer, and the 18-hole course on the south side will still be open for business.
