County sports update, April 13-14, 2013

Grady County High School Baseball Tournament

The Union City High School baseball team won the Grady County Baseball Tournament for the second year in a row, beating the Verden Tigers 5-4 in Alex on Saturday.

 

Bill Tipton Tournament

The Chickasha High School baseball team finished the Bill Tipton Tournament with a 3-2 record, ending with a 12-1 run-rule victory in four innings against Shawnee at the Wolves’ home field Saturday.

Chickasha plays at Southeast at 5 p.m. today, and hosts the Spartans at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The Blanchard High School baseball team finished the tournament 2-3, losing 14-13 to Weatherford on Saturday.

The Lions lost to Shawnee 9-3 and beat Duncan 9-6 on Thursday, then beat Altus 11-4 and lost 7-3 to Carl Albert on Friday.

 

Chickasha soccer

The Chickasha High School girls soccer team beat Western Heights 10-0 on Friday night, led by five goals from senior Hannah Elrod.

The boys team lost 7-2 to No. 2 Western Heights, getting goals from Devin Warden and Cooper Mosley (PK).

The soccer teams will play at Durant at 5/7 p.m. Tuesday.
