Lady Chicks down Cyril, Anadarko

Coach Dennis Furr’s Lady Chicks took down both opponents in a a 2-0 sweep against Cyril and highway 62 rival Anadarko at home on Thursday.

In game one against Anadarko, the Lady Chicks won a tough fought battle after they brought a 3-2 lead out of the first inning and never relinquished it. Chickasha then run-ruled Cyril 10-0 in 4 innings.

“We’ve got a lot of depth," Furr said. "We’ve got a lot of good players, who can do a lot of good things."

That depth was evident as the Lady Chicks took both wins without starting pitcher Kelsi Gore. It was an evening for the number two and three pitchers. Madison Snyder managed 4 strikeouts and only 1 walk against Anadarko, and incoming freshman Keely Cauthan’s performance in game two gave Furr another reason to be happy with 4 strikeouts and no walks.

Furr and his team look to improve and develop in these summer league games and hope that their success transfers into the upcoming season.
