Shinn at 3 p.m.: No regrets so far for Jones

NORMAN — Five rookie quarterbacks are expected to start when the NFL opens the 2012 season next week.   Four of those rookies — Andrew Luck (Colts), Robert Griffin III (Redskins), Ryan Tannehill (Dolphins), Brandon Weeden (Browns) — were first-round picks in April.

OU quarterback Landry Jones was projected as a first-round pick if he would have entered the draft. He was asked earlier this week if he regrets the decision.

"Not yet," he said. "I haven't followed it too much. I don't have any regrets on not going."

Jones will make the 38th start of his college career when OU faces UTEP at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in El Paso, Texas.
