Chickasha boys soccer shares Chickasha Invitational championship

CHICKASHA — The Chickasha High School soccer team reached the championship game of the Chickasha Invitational, but thunderstorms only allowed a few minutes of the game against Capitol Hill to be played.

After a short delay, it was decided to call the game off and declare a tie.

The Chickasha boys finished fourth in the tournament last season, and even though the Chicks lost a lot of talent and experience from that team, this season's squad has shown improvement.

Chickasha is now 3-2-1 this season.

The Fightin' Chicks beat Elgin 1-0 in the first round Friday, and then beat Madill 1-0 in the semifinal game Saturday afternoon.

Up next for the Chickasha boys is a road game against Noble at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and the Chicks will play El Reno at Hampton Field on Friday night.
