“We kept getting behind in the count. We didn’t do a real good job getting on base," Owen said. "If we don’t get our leadoff guy on, it kills our approach, and it showed today."

Owen is expecting some of the players on his junior varsity team to step up and play varsity during spring ball.

“We have a lot of our starters on our varsity coming back, but some of the JV guys are going to have some input and do a few things for us,” Owen said.
