NOBLE —

Chickasha came away from basketball action in Noble on Thursday night with a win and a loss.

The girls won 57-36 while the boys were narrowly defeated 60-56. Head coach Nathan Pennypacker said the Fightin' Chicks played a solid game but just came up short in the end.

"It wasn't bad, but we did some things to give it away in the end," he said. "Overall, I'm happy with it."

The Lady Chicks bounced back from their loss against Elgin on Tuesday to beat Noble by 21 points. Senior Alex Stewart led the way from point, putting in 15 points for her second consecutive game in double-digits. Sophomore Dominique Golightly added eight points, while senior Maddy Irving had seven. Jacklyn Ramos and Taylor Sylvester scored six points each.

Chickasha jumped out early on the Lady Bears, leading 16-4 when the first quarter came to an end. They put up 20 in the second frame and held Noble to just eight first half points. Noble began scoring more regularly as the game went on, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

After Friday night's games in Anadarko, Chickasha will enter the holiday break. Both teams are scheduled to return to action away to Piedmont on Jan. 7 before hosting the Chickasha Tournament that takes place Jan. 9-11.
