Sports Headlines

The Chickasha girls highlighted a night of area basketball playoffs by winning 73-61 against Ardmore behind 28 points from senior Alex Stewart and season-high 18 points from junior Jacklyn Ramos. The Lady Chicks will play El Reno on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Edmond North HS for a trip to the Class 5A state tournament.

The Rush Springs girls beat Calera 63-44 in Class 2A area in Byng on Thursday. They play Healdton at 1:30 p.m. on Friday for a chance to play in the area consolation final on Saturday against the loser of Cordell vs. Latta.

Look in the weekend sports section for previews on the Chickasha baseball team and boys soccer team. Both start their seasons on Monday, soccer at home to Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. and baseball away to Altus at 5 p.m.
