CHICKASHA — A Cement woman died over the weekend as a result of injuries she sustained when she was flung out of an open truck door, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP are currently investigating the incident and the driver of the vehicle. The woman, 58-year-old Bonnie Sue Clift, was a passenger in a 1992 Chevy pickup truck that pulled over to the side of County Road 1275 near County Road 2920 in Grady County at around 8:47 p.m. Saturday morning.

While on the side of the road, another passenger, Robert Joe Baggett, 39 of Cyril, got out of the vehicle, according to an OHP report. That’s when the driver, 43-year-old Gary Don Bryant, also from Cement, sped away, which caused Clift to fall out of an open passenger door. Clift was also struck by the truck, according to the report.

Clift was flown to OU Medical with “massive head, internal and external injuries,” according to the report. Her death as a result of those injuries was reported at 9 p.m. Saturday night.
