Police respond to report of woman giving alcohol to child while in drive-through

— A Chickasha woman was arrested in the parking lot of Taco Bell after a witness reported she gave a child a drink of alcoholic beverage while in the drive-thru.

While en route to the call, Sergeant Jeremy Alexander was advised that the vehicle the juvenile was in was in the parking lot just beside the Taco Bell.

Alexander located the vehicle and found Elizabeth Bailey in driver's seat with the engine of the vehicle on. A juvenile male was in the passenger's seat. Bailey's speech was slow, slurred and thick and there was a strong odor of alcohol, Alexander reported. Bailey's eyes were red and glassy and she was unsteady on her feet when she exited the vehicle, using the vehicle for balance.

Alexander said the initial report of Bailey giving alcohol to a child was unfounded.

Bailey initially said she had not consumed any alcoholic beverages. She later changed her story and said she had drunk two beers. She changed her story a third time and said she had drunk two shots.

Bailey was arrested and the juvenile was released to another adult. Upon searching Bailey's vehicle, a half empty 750 mL open container of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey was found.

Bailey agreed to a breathalyzer test, which resulted in a 0.18 breath alcohol concentration. This test was administered two hours after her arrest.

Bailey was charged with child endangerment and actual physical control of a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08 or more and booked into the Grady County Jail.
