A potentially broken transformer at a substation located in Chickasha is most likely the reason for the May 15 and May 12 power outages.
"We have everyone running off of another transformer at that substation right now." PSO Spokesperson Sam Whiteford said.
Over 3,000 customers were without power on both the May 12 and May 15.
Close to 900 customers lost power on May 14, but that issue was unrelated to the broken transformer, Whiteford said.
PSO will start conducting tests to determine why the transformer became faulty with plans of repairing it and moving the displaced customers back into its service.
