Chicks lose at Lawton MacArthur

LAWTON, Okla. —

Chickasha missed the two-point conversion, and the score was 30-12 with 10:17 left in the third quarter.

Rashaad Garrett intercepted a McCarty pass on the next drive, but Chickasha was unable to take advantage of the turnover, turning it over on downs in MacArthur territory, and MacArthur got the momentum back from then on out.

Dary’Aun Thomas returned a Chickasha punt to the three yard line late in the third quarter, and the Highlanders scored a few plays later on an Anthony Burris run, putting MacArthur up 37-12 with 2:15 left in the third quarter.

Morris threw his second interception of the game with 10:40 left in the fourth quarter, as the Chicks were driving midfield.

Burris added one more rushing touchdown for MacArthur with 3:29 remaining in the game, and the Chickasha defense had no answer for anything the Highlanders tried to do all night.

Burris finished with 26 carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Neff scored on a 35-yard swing pass from Morris with 1:15 left in the game, with the contest already out of reach.

Morris had 217 yards and two touchdowns on 15-for-32 passing, with two interceptions. He rushed for 43 yards on 15 carries.

Neff was the leading rusher with 47 yards on eight carries and a touchdown.

Young was the leading receiver for Chickasha, the first time this season someone besides Oliver has held that title. He had 119 yards on four catches and a touchdown. Oliver caught five passes for 60 yards, and Neff caught four for 24 yards and a touchdown

Chickasha plays Ardmore at home next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
