Lincoln student champion archer

The competition took place in Kentucky. It was a long trip to the competition, but Tuthill and her team made time to practice in an open field at their hotel.

Tuthill is the third national champion out of Chickasha's archery team in five years, coached by Pete Bush, Assistant Superintendent of Chickasha Public School.

Tuthill has been involved in archery for two years. Her coach at Grand Ave. Elementary suggested she join the archery team when the P.E. class did archery as a unit.

Tuthill is not only a great shot, she enjoys the sport.

"I like shooting and being there with my friends," Tuthill said.

Riding horseback and cheer are among her other interests.

Her parents are Deana and Tony Tuthill and her brother is Ashton Tuthill
