A woman who was allegedly raped in her apartment on May 11, is claiming the event triggered her eviction.
"I returned home 8 a.m. Saturday morning (May 11) from getting a rape kit done at the hospital to be told I'm getting evicted," Pam said.
Pam, who lives at A&M Apartments on the 400 block of W. Colorado Avenue, said her landlord told her, the police have been called to her apartment too many times since she moved in.
"They told me, they don't want the police here everyday and the rape was the icing on the cake," she said.
Apartment Manager Stanley Hisel said it's not just the rape issue, but a string of incidents involving Pam around that lead to the decision to evict her.
"She's an alcoholic and we have the cops out here for her all the time," he said.
Pam, who lives with her daughter, is not legally on the lease, said Hisel.
Pam admitted having had several welfare calls served at her apartment.
"I suffer from bi-polar disorder and depression," she said. "When my counselor can't get ahold of me, she will have the cops come check on me."
Hisel said Pam has had her own runin with the law.
"She is just a lot of problems," he said.
SInce May of 2011 Pam has been arrested six times for crimes such as public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and violation of a protection order.
Pam said she is also concerned for the well being of her daughter and does not want an eviction to affect her credit.
Pam's last name was omitted from this story for her protection.
