The Mid-America Tour hit Grady County this week, showing off pre -1945 vehicles among various cities.
Local car club Horseless Carriage Club of America hosted the tour of their region, the sooner region, and invited the public to participate in several community activities along the way, such as the viewing of historical sites.
Yesterday’s main activity was a grand tour of the USAO campus.
Susie Ersland, assistant to the tour chairman, organized the tour and worked with university personnel to make this possible.
“We have had such a great time so far,” Ersland said. “We began at the airport this morning and it was just phenomenal. We will finish up at the Washita Theatre tonight where they’re putting on a special history production for us.”
Tomorrow’s festivities include a tour through Tuttle and toward Oklahoma City. It will conclude at Ken’s Steakhouse in Amber.
