Chickasha Police found a man who was stabbed several times early yesterday morning in the 200 block of 14th Street.

Chickasha Police Major Elip Moore said officers responded to a suspicious person call, which led to the discovery of the victim.

"The call was due to witnesses seeing an unknown person banging on a garage door," Moore said.

The victim had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and person, said Moore.

A police report showed the victim had a large cut that extended from his back to his chest, according to Moore. The victim also had a stab wound in his back.

Although EMS services arrived and took the victim to Grady Memorial Hospital, Moore said the victim refused to cooperate with police questioning and currently there is no information to use in an investigation.

"In two week this person may decide to press charges," said Moore. A lot of times there is a close personal relationship between the assaulter and the victim in situations like this."

The victim was transferred to OU Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
