Man arrested for not complying with officer's orders while drinking beer

A man was arrested for obstructing an officer on Feb. 16 after refusing to follow a Chickasha police officer's commands.

Chickasha Police Officer David Harper-Head was told by CPD dispatch that a man, Lloyd Smith, had allegedly attacked a woman.

Harper-Head found Smith hiding in a metal shed in the backyard, the affidavit reads.

"The male was crouched down with the right side of his body bladed away from me where I could not see his right hand," Harper-Head said. "I immediately ordered the subject at gunpoint to show his hands, but he would not comply."

Harper-Head said he proceeded to holster his pistol and draw his Taser.

He said Smith had a can of beer in his hand, and chugged it, at which point he told Smith he would tase him if he didn't comply.

"I finally had to physically grab ahold of Smith and force him onto his stomach," Harper-Head said. "I then handcuffed him, placing him under arrest."

Smith was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer.
