Donna Bebo announced she is withdrawing her campaign for District 65 State Representative, the position left vacant by potential gubernatorial candidate Joe Dorman.

"From the beginning of my campaign, I vowed to give my all to being the type of candidate our district and our state deserve," Bebo said in a release. "Recently, however, I have been experiencing some health issues which have gotten in the way of keeping that promise. I cannot in good conscience continue to campaign when I am not able to work as hard as you need me to. It is because I have so much respect for the democratic process and for the people of our district that I am withdrawing from this race."

Previously, Bebo has run as a Democratic candidate against Congressman Tom Cole. She said she did not come to this decision lightly.

"My primary concern was doing what was best for Southwest Oklahomans," she said. "I feel that this is the right thing to do. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported my campaign and assure you that I will not stop fighting for the things we believe in."
