CHICKASHA —

A woman was arrested for public intoxication after she was found lying in the middle of a street yelling at the sky early yesterday morning.

Chickasha Police Officer Clayton Hobbs said he found Jamie Mandrell in the area of N. 9th Street and Kansas Avenue.

"I asked Jamie to stand up and walk to me," said Hobbs. "Jamie was unsteady on her feet, slurred (her) speech, (had) red watery eyes and an odor of an alcoholic substance about her breath and person."

Mandrell told Hobbs she consumed alcohol that evening.

"I asked her how much and she stated, 'not event a fifth,'" said Hobbs.

Mandrell was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Grady County Jail.
