Wilson renews National Board Teacher Certification

— P. L. “Ginger” Wilson has met the standard for renewal of her National Board Teacher Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist.  National Board Teacher Certification is a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize accomplished teachers.

Mrs. Wilson was required to complete a Profile of Professional Growth portfolio and two classroom videos to demonstrate her advanced teaching knowledge, skills and practices.  To ensure the high and rigorous standards demanded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards continue to be met, National Board Teacher Certification must be renewed each ten years.

Mrs. Wilson received her Bachelor of Science degree from OCLA (now USAO).  She received her Master of Education degree from Southeastern State University.

Mrs. Wilson is a member of the National Education Association, Oklahoma Education Association, International Reading Association, Oklahoma Reading Association and Grady County Reading Council where she is currently the  President.

Mrs. Wilson has taught school at Ninnekah Elementary School for 45 years.  She taught second grade for 35 years and has been the reading teacher for 10 years. She was selected as Teacher of the Year five times.
