Tomorrow's Headlines

Though there was rain on Monday, Grady County is still very dry, reaching the "severe" level on the drought monitor. Gov. Mary Fallin placed the state under an emergency burn ban last week. Read more in tomorrow's edition of The Express-Star.

A Chickasha man was arrested for when a pipe with methamphetamine residue on it was allegedly found on him after he drove erratically to avoid arrest on Saturday. Read more in tomorrow's edition of The Express-Star.

Chickasha will send a group of athletes to Yukon this weekend for the Class 5A State Meet after they qualified from the Deer Creek regionals on Saturday. The list includes regional gold medal winners Hanna Fergason and Kyle McNatt, who won the girls and boys long jump competition. All three girls relay teams also qualified for state.

The state meet for Classes A-4A took place over the weekend. Minco's Hunter Jones is the only Grady County representative to take gold as he won the boys 3200 meters with a time of 10:20:49, 11 seconds ahead of his closest rival.

Chickasha's Cody Burrows is currently battling away for the 5A State golf title at Ft. Sill. The two-day tournament begins today.
