Man claims he was victim of kidnapping

BLANCHARD —

A Blanchard man claims he was kidnapped, beaten and robbed earlier this week.

Travis McMurtray told police he was hit over the head around 2 a.m. on Sept. 23.

Chickasha Police Chief Eddie Adamson said McMurtray had a laceration and dried blood on his head.

"He said two men with a gun took him from in front of his grandmother's house at 1400 N. 16th St. lot 222, then drove him out to a remote location in the county near the airport," said Adamson.

McMurtray said he could not a give a description of his assailants. He said his phone was taken from  his person during the assault.

"He said he was asked about money during the incident, but he didn't have any," said Adamson.

The case is being investigated by multiple agencies including CPD, since the action stretched across the county. McMurtray said one of the assailants fired a gun at the ground during the crime.

"This whole thing is still under investigation, but the victim said he didn't know either of his assailants," Adamson said.
