GRADY COUNTY —

Winter weather is expected to linger most of the weekend.

A cold front moved into the area Thursday afternoon, which brought falling temperatures and an eventual ice storm.

Chickasha Police Chief Eddie Adamson cautioned drivers to avoid potentially hazardous roadways.

"We have worked two wrecks on 4th Street in the last 20 minutes," Adamson said around 1 p.m. Friday. "Everything is getting slick throughout town. Side roads that aren't getting a lot of traffic are going to be worse. This is going to be set in for the next day or so. If you don't have to be out, stay in. It's a good time to check your emergency weather kit."

Saturday's forecast is clear, but two to three inches of snow is predicted to fall in Grady County Sunday.
