Man arrested at Eduardo's admits to being on meth

CHICKASHA — Chickasha Police Officer Derek Hunt was dispatched to Edwardo’s Mexican Restaurant on South Fourth Street to respond to a public intoxication call.

Upon arrival, Hunt observed a male lying in the parking lot. According to the report, Hunt made contact with the subject who identified himself as Lewie Branscum. Branscum advised the officer that he was OK but was not aware of his exact location. The report states that Branscum was fidgety and believed it was Saturday instead of Monday.

Hunt said that Branscum made bizarre comments about how he got to Edwardo’s and admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine.

An ambulance was then dispatched for Branscum. After medical personnel established that he was in a stable condition, Branscum was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
