CHICKASHA — Former Interim Police Chief Elip Moore will step back into his role as the Assistant Chief with the department to assist with daily operations of the force.

The main role of the assistant chief is to handle internal operations such as scheduling, recruitment, and internal reports while the traditional role of the Chief has been to handle outside relations such as community outreach, partnerships with other law enforcement agencies, and major issues with policy.

"I think once the new Chief gets settled into his role, things will really start to come together for the police department. He really brings a lot to the table especially when it comes to technology and just moving things forward," said Moore, "The guys have been very receptive, but as with all changes-it will take time to see how it takes its course."

Moore said that while he was the Interim Chief he had to wear many different hats with the department and still had to make sure his regular job duties were taken care of as well.

"I am glad I will be able to dedicate the time now to the one position and be the best I can in that role," said Moore.
