’tis the Season
Festival opens Tuesday night
Chickasha Festival of Light will kick off its 17th season with a night of singing and dancing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24 in the Shannon Springs Park amphitheatre.
The hour of entertainment will include Zuzu’s Petals, an entertaining and eclectic mix of originals and covers that comes with ease between two friends. The duo features Sarah Grote and Carrie Weber showcasing the acoustic guitar, violin and vocals.
Also, the local talent will include students from April’s Dance studio and students from First Baptist Church School of the Arts.
The FBCAS dance class will dance to “Joy to the World” under the direction of Kathryn Painter, and the FBCAS choir will sing “Away in a Manger” and “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” with Jamie Killion playing the guitar and DeAnna Pearson & Mandy Osborn interpreting in sign language.
The evening entertainment will conclude with presentation of the Festival of Light Christmas Queen royalty, including 2009 Interview Junior Queen, Alexis McElory; 2009 Talent Junior Queen, Allison Stewart; 2009 Grand Junior Christmas Queen, Alli Bordwine; 2009 Junior. King, Cooper Park; 2009 Interview Princess, Melanie Sales; 2009 Talent Princess, Ryleigh Clem; 2009 Grand Christmas Princess, Rebekah Willoughby; Interview Christmas Queen, Heather Hanson; Talent Christmas Queen, Adrian Talley; and the 2009 Grand Christmas Queen, Nikissiah Widener.

The Festival of Light opens nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 24-Dec. 31. Concessions, carriage rides, pictures with Santa, and shopping are available.
