Chickasha man brutally beaten in his home

By ELLIS GOODWIN

Staff Writer

A Chickasha man was able to drag himself six blocks to the Chickasha Police Department after being brutally beaten outside of his home.

Early Sunday morning police heard banging at the backdoor of the station. An officer went to see what was causing the racket and found David Terry outside with a swollen left eye and blood streaming onto his shirt. Terry said he had been assaulted at his home in the 200 block of W. Colorado Avenue and needed to go to the hospital.

This is not the first time Terry has been assaulted at his home. Two weeks ago Terry's home was broken into by two white males. The men shot him with a bb gun and took off.

Sunday night, he believes the same men came into his home, hollering that they were going to kill him. Terry told police he ran out the front door, but they chased him down and caught him in the street. They started beating Terry, who at one point lost consciousness, according to the report.

Terry was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and later transported the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City.

According to the report, he had multiple broken bones in his face.

No items were taken from Terry's home.
