A Chickasha man has been arrested after allegedly distributing child porn across the Internet.
The arrest of a Ft. Lauderdale man and the subsequent forensic examination of his computer indicated that the man had received 49 photos in various e-mails from a screen name called BabyAshChick.
The photos reportedly included images of children from the ages of five to early teens performing sexual acts with adults and other children.
Subpoenaed records from America Online showed the sender's account belonged to Carl Eugene Gill, Jr. of Chickasha, according to the affidavit for arrest.
On Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m., Chickasha Police, District Six investigators and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant on Gill's home in the 800 block of W. Alabama Avenue.
Gill and his wife were detained for questioning, while their child was given a police escort to school, according to Police Chief Lynn Williams.
During his interview, Gill reportedly admitted to having sent the photos to the Florida man. According to the affidavit, the suspect said he had distributed images between five to 10 times in the past, adding that he would meet people in chat rooms and then swap images with them through e-mail.
Chief Williams said there is currently no indication that any of the children in the photos are local children. It appears, he said, that all of the images have been obtained from swapping.
Computer equipment has been removed from the home and taken to the OSBI lab in Oklahoma City for forensic examination.
Williams also said police believe Gill was able to conceal his activities from his wife. She was released following her interview.
Following his interview, Gill was arrested on charges of distributing obscene pictures of minors and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crime Act.
