Planning a weekend get away? Why not spend it here in Grady County at one of the many events scheduled at the Grady County Fairgrounds. Activities are planned each weekend i.e. Horse Shows, Antique Car Swap Meet, Chili Cookoff, Craft Show, Dog Show and many others. Support the local economy by keeping your dollars at home.
Every dollar spent in locally owned stores or for locally produced goods and services has a beneficial multiplier effect far beyond a dollar that immediately flows out of the region. According to the Travel Industry Association, domestic travelers spend about $201 on average per day. Overnight hotel travelers spend nearly $422 per trip. Day trip travelers spend close to $122 per trip.
Domestic travel spending in Oklahoma reached more than $5.3 billion during 2006. Travel expenditures generated 71.9 thousand jobs and $842 million in tax revenue for federal, state and local governments.
Tourism has a tremendous impact on the economy. Invite your friends and family to join you at one of the many events at the Grady County Fairgrounds this fall. Be a contributor toward building a stronger community, supporting jobs, and local businesses.
