Crime Stoppers to spin off Drug Stoppers in August

This August, Crime Stoppers is launching a Drug Stoppers program. The non profit organization is partnering with the Chickasha Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office Narcotics Task Force to process as many drug tips as residents can provide.

According to District Attorney Bret Burns, “this is a unique program of partnership between the Chickasha Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office and the Grady County Crime Stoppers Organization.

These efforts to remove illegal drugs from our community makes this county a safer place to live and work.”

Chickasha Police Sergeant Jason Maddox is requesting businesses in town that have marquis signs to show support for this program by putting the Drug Stopper’s phone number (224-TIPS) and some reference to Drug Stopper month, such as “We Support Drug Stopper’s Month” on the sign.

As always Crime Stoppers does not use caller ID and callers do not have to leave their name.

The program uses confidential ID numbers for participants to report tips and later claim any associated reward.
