Grady Fairgrounds beautification ongoing

The Grady County Fairgrounds is fortunate to have many loyal supporters in our community.

In 2006, Margaret Scott saw a need for beautification that would improve the aesthetics of the property. She spent countless hours researching plant materials to develop a plan for trees and shrubs that were best suited for the area.

She then applied and was approved for an Oklahoma Department of Transportation Tree Grant. Through her leadership, a landscape and irrigation plan was implemented that enhances the property with a beautiful tree lined entrance.

The beautification project continues through the contribution of another loyal supporter, Ross Seed Co. of Chickasha and El Reno, who recently donated an extensive selection of plant materials for the fairgrounds.

Managers Paul Horton and Steve Calhoun with the Chickasha store have been avid supporters for many years. They know the economic value and benefits of a well designed landscape that is inviting to customers while increasing pride for all residents of the community.

The Grady County Fairboard and the fairgrounds staff are very appreciative of these contributions and the support shown by the community.
