City approves beer sales at Car Ranch

Chickasha’s Muscle Car Ranch will once again celebrate Independence Day with beer and music.

Chickasha City Council members voted 7-2 in special session recently to allow Muscle Car Ranch owner Curtis Hart to sell beer at his venue. The ruling allows beer sales at the Ranch for the next three years.

The Council put several stipulations in the agreement. The Ranch must:

• Control the use of alcohol on the premises during major events.

• Take reasonable actions to prevent patrons from brining their own alcohol or beer into the premises.

• Provide reasonable security on the premises during any major event.

Hart originally requested permission to sell beer at Muscle Car Ranch events so he could have more control over consumption and was denied by the City Council.

“It’s been a long, drawn-out process for me, but [Council members] appear to be working with me,” Hart said.

Entertainment at the venue begins after lunch on July 4, and Hart encourages people to visit the Ranch and then decide if they want to buy a ticket.

The ranch will feature two stages this year, the original Trail Boss Amphitheater and a new covered amphitheater. Also new this year is a diner.

“This is an all-new deal,” Hart said. “You’re welcome to camp, fish, grill; there’s food and drink so there’s no need to drive anywhere, just camp here.”

Scheduled to perform at the event July 4 is Mama Sweet, Jeff Hobbs and the Jacks, singer/songwriters John Fulbright and Gabe Marshal and local band Ryan Dorman and Clever Gun.
