Published June 18, 2008 07:36 pm - Staff from Grady Memorial Hospital will be in a full scale hazardous materials exercise in the morning on Thursday, June 19, 2008 just west of the Emergency Department. The hospital will be going through a decontamination exercise in conjunction with several cities to test response plans for a major chemical exposure.

Hazmat drill set for Thursday



Staff from Grady Memorial Hospital will be in a full scale hazardous materials exercise in the morning on Thursday, June 19, 2008 just west of the Emergency Department. The hospital will be going through a decontamination exercise in conjunction with several cities to test response plans for a major chemical exposure.

Among the many agencies participating in this drill are: City of Duncan: Fire and Law Enforcement, Emergency Operations Center, where the major incident takes place along with Stephens County Emergency Management, Health Department, Sheriffs Office and Stephens County CERT Teams; AMR EMS Service; Duncan Regional Hospital; Great Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross; Grady Memorial Hospital; Comanche County Memorial Hospital; Southwestern Medical Center; Jackson County Memorial Hospital; Local/regional EMS agencies; Air Medical agencies; Oklahoma State Department of Health; Oklahoma Emergency Management; and some Texas based hospitals that share border with the southwest region.

The drill will require the enactment local mutual aid agreements, and require coordination with the Medical Emergency Response Center
