Republican Women to meet
Chisholm Trail Republican Women will meet Monday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Canadian Valley Vo-Tech, 1401 Michigan in Chickasha. We invite all Republican Women. CMS library
open in June
The Chickasha Middle School library will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Wednesday during the month of June for CMS students who want to come and read or work on Study Island.
Verden City-wide garage sale set
The Verden city-wide garage sale will be held Friday and Saturday, June 5-6. For more information, call Verden City Hall at 405-453-7235.
GED graduation
set for June 4
The 14th annual commencement ceremony sponsored by the Chickasha Adult Learning Center and the Altrusa Club for recipients of GED diplomas will be Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. at the Chickasha High School Activity Center. Each candidate that successfully completed the GED examination during the past year is invited to participate. You are also encouraged to bring all of your family and friend to help you celebrate this special occasion. Altrusa Club will host a reception following the ceremony. All graduates will need to be in the lobby by 6:45 p.m. Call 222-6562 to reserve your seat for the graduation ceremony.
Verden to hold annual rabies clinic
The Verden annual rabies clinic will be held Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. until noon in the Verden Community Building, 214 N. Main. Rabies shots are $8 and other vaccinations will be available. Tags are $3.

The Chickasha Adult Learning Center will have classes available throughout the summer. Morning classes will be Tuesday and Thursday, June 2-July 30 from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. Afternoon classes will take place Tuesday and Thursday, June 2-July 30 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Evening classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday, June 9-July 30, from 5:30 untl 8:30 p.m. ParaPro and GED testing are by appointment only. Festival committee meeting changed
Please mark your calendars for the next Rock Island Arts Festival meeting date change to Monday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Epworth Methodist Church New Life Center. The meeting should last about an hour. Updates will include posters, flyers, sponsorship letters and other agenda items. RIAF meeting dates are located at www.rockislandartsfestival.org.
Survivor dinner set for June 2
It’s that time of year again that we celebrate our survivors. Your Chickasha Relay For Life Committee is hosting a pot luck dinner for all survivors on June 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bible Baptist Church on 29th street. It promises to be a time of good food and fellowship complete with entertainment.

USAO offers
swim lessons
USAO summer swim lessons for children are scheduled June 1-12, 15-26, June 29-July 10, and July 13-24 from 10-11 a.m. Monday-Friday. Enrollment is scheduled May 28 and 29 from 10 a.m.-noon in the USAO Fieldhouse, 20th and Utah. The two-week classes are $45. Children must be three and a half feet tall in order to stand in the shallow end of the pool. Contact Dr. Nancy Osborn at 574-1246 for more information.
Swimming camp
site has changed
The June 1 through 4 Chickasha High School Swim Camp has been changed from the pool at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma to the city pool at Shannoan Springs Park. The sessions will begin at 11 a.m. and noon. If you have questions, please call Coach Gallaway at 405-779-6532.
