CHICKASH - The Grady County Commissioners approved the five-year road and bridge plan for Grady County at their regular Monday meeting on May 19.
According to District No. 2 Commissioner Mike Lennier, the bridge located one-half mile north of Verden has been added to the plan so state funds will be available for federal matching funds. Because the bridge, which collapsed during the floods of August, 2007, is considered a “major collector,” it is not eligible for FEMA funding.
In addition, District No. 2 Commissioner Windle Hardy announced the opening of the bridge in the 100 block on CR 1260, also known as Cardinal Road, west of Minco.
The board then voted to approve a detention service agreement between Muskogee Youth Services and the Board of the Grady County Commissioners. The agreement was approved, pending e-verification filing.
Next, the board approved the Health Department’s monthly report for April, 2008, and the release of a lien agreement between Jackie and Sherrie Cobb and the Board of the Grady County Commissioners pertaining to the Grady County Home Grant Program.
No action was taken on an application for permit by Perez Engineering.
The board then voted to table bids for the front end loader for District No. 1, and requested bids for two used cars for the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
Next, commissioners approved a resolution for disposing of equipment for the Grady County Fairgrounds, the equipment being a John Deere riding lawn mower purchased in April, 2003 at a cost of $6,285.56. The mower was traded to Standridge Equipment Co. of Chickasha.
Finally, the board approved no-zoning requirements for Vista PCS, LLC (U. S. Cellular towers) for Grady County.
