A chili cook-off funderaiser featuring Horshoe Road Band will benefit the Epworth United Methodist Church Music Department. The concert and chili cook-off begins at noon, Sunday, April 26. Horseshoe Road is a violin and guitar duo with a unique blend of eclectic musical styles that are expressed acoustically. This great time will include a concert, chili, soup, desserts, and more! Epworth UMC is located at 4th and Iowa Street and everyone is welcome to attend.
Amber reunion set for April 25
The Amber Alumni and Former Student Reunion will hold their 74th annual meeting on Saturday, April 25 at the Am-Po High School Auditorium in Amber. Doors will open at 3 p.m. on the east side of the auditorium for registration and visiting. A short business meeting will be held at 5 p.m. and a catered dinner will be held at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Reservation fees are $15 per person and will be received no later than April 23. CMS promotion
set for May 22
The Chickasha Middle School 8th Grade Promotional Ceremony will take place in the CMS Auditorium at 1000 South 9th st. on May 22 at 1:p.m. Promotion photos will be available for purchase the day of the ceremony. Parents of 8th graders are invited to attend!

The Chickasha Tennis Booster Club is going to have a Pro-Am Doubles

YMCA to host Healthy Kids Day
YMCA Healthy Kids Day is Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chickasha Area YMCA. The free community event will feature inflatables, games and health-related vendors. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a free Healthy Kids Day T-shirt and families may earn entry into a drawing for a set of family bicycles.
Fundraiser to help fire departments
Free barbecue pork dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Minco Fire Department located at 107 N. 3rd Street. Sponsored by the Pocasset Masonic Lodge, all donated money will be matched by the lodge and distributed among four area volunteer fire departments- Minco, Harold, Pocasset, and Cogar. Excess Desserts will be auctioned during the day. Everyone is welcome. Your support is greatly appreciated.
MacDowell Club meets Sunday
The community is cordially invited to join the MacDowell Music Club members and their guests on Sun. April 19 at 2:30 p.m. in the USAO Gary Hall Lounge, 17th and W. Alabama, Chickasha. Mrs. Jonnetta Hinkle of Lindsey and Instrumental and Vocal Junior Festival Participants will present the “Sparking Keys” program. Refreshments will be served. Hostesses are Susan Gearhart, Eleanor Edmondson and Valerie Joy Yocum. Those interested in learning more about MacDowell Music Club may call 222-4797. The MacDowell Music Club of Chickasha was organized in 1911 and federated with the National Federation of Music Clubs in 1912.
P.E.O. Chapter FV meets April 20
Members of P.E.O. Chapter FV will meet Mon. April 20 in the home of Judy Nunamaker. Sociel time begins at 6:30 p.m. with the business meeting starting 7 p.m. Co-hostesses are Jean Chamberlain and Sharon Thompson. The progrm, “There is a Light Side to Education” will be presented by past and presente ducators who will share humorous stories from their classrooms.
Alex choir sets
BBQ fundraiser
A BBQ fundraiser dinner for the Alex High School honor choir will be held Sunday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Proceeds will go towards a trip to Dallas for a competition. Cost is $6 for adult plates and $4 for child plates.
Republican Women to meet
Chisholm Trail Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting April 20 at Canadian Valley Vo-Tech Center. Representative Leslie Osborn will be the guest speaker. A spaghetti meal will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. All Republican Women and their spouses are invited to attend.
Pregnancy Center Pre-Open House
Pregnancy Testing and Guidance Center is holding a Pre-Open House and Dessert from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, April 19 at their new facility, 1201 W. Choctaw. Everyone is invited to come by and see what has been accomplished and what still needs to be done. A list of needs will be in each room for those desiring to donate. CHS pom/cheer meeting Monday
All girls interested in trying out for CHS pom or cheer will need to meet with a parent at the activity center at 6:30 p.m. for a Parents Meeting on Monday.

to hold fundraiser
Pioneer Elementary School will hold a bake sale and silent auction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 at the Chickasha Wal-Mart All proceeds will go to the school.

Line Dance
lessons offered
Free line dance lessons are being offered at Best Western Inn in Chickasha, 2101 S. 4th St., across the street from McDonalds. Classes are held on the first and third Monday of every month from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the banquet room. Beginners and all ages are welcome. Door prizes and refreshments are served.
