I am Kevin Koonce from Nacogdoches, Texas. I work for an oil and gas exploration company here in Oklahoma. I have worked all over the state, and I must say that Chickasha and Hobart are my favorite places to work.
I am writing in reference to the litter at Shannon Springs Park. I spent part of my Sunday picking up litter there. It is a beautiful and historic park. It is amazing to me the amount of litter that has accumulated there. The items that I spent the most time picking up are the plastic ties that I assume were used to secure the Christmas Lights. There are hundreds of them all over the ground there. I find it hard to believe that the people who are suppose to be taking care of the park, are actually leaving litter there. I also found the bodies of 4 dead birds there. I wonder what is killing these birds? I know from having a place on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, that fishing line can cause problems for migratory birds. I wonder if all this litter is causing problems for the birds there? I hope we can work together to make this park a litter-free place. I sure know that I need some help picking it all up though!
Thank Ya'll.
