I am questioning the number of sheriff deputies I see smoking in their patrol cars/trucks. i understand the state smoking ban prohibits sheriff personell from smoking in state-owned property. Why is this allowed by the administration within the sheriff department? I also urge the city council to take up this issue. I believe it requires a city ordinance to prevent city police from smoking in their patrol cars as they are not covered under the state ban.
