Dibble Senior Citizens News

Oct. 26, 2012

— Greetings to the Seniors of the Dibble Community!

Monday night a load of Dibble Seniors converged on the R.S.V.P. Banquet in Norman and enjoyed a wonderful night of presentation by Steve Miller, the new R.S.V.P. Director .  We got in on a good meal and door prizes plus an update on current and planned events via R.S.V.P. and also received a good deal of accolade for various senior volunteer efforts from the local centers.  From meals-on-wheels to Doctor visit drivers, R.S.V.P. is a big help to seniors in Cleveland and McClain counties and serves as a valuable resource and advocate for those seniors.  Big thanks to R.S.V.P.!!

Remember our planned trip to Old Plantation and the Wichita Mountains on Saturday, November 3rd.  Shuttle bus leaves at 10:30 am that morning.  Be there or be square!!

Finally, the 3rd and last presidential debate is history with both candidates duking it out over supposedly foreign policy.  Seems to me they didn’t say too much about foreign policy but talked about everything else instead!  Stay tuned next week as I reveal the Old Goat platform and all my proposed cabinet members and proposed policies which probably won’t be anymore ridiculous than what may come down the trail.  Stay tuned!  If the other guys don’t float your boat, come the 6th just VOTE OLD GOAT!!!

I recently asked our esteemed Vice President Dale if he thought I might really get elected President of the United State and all he said was that I had about as much  of a chance of winning as having a Jewish Prayer meeting at the Rib Crib!  How rude!!  He ain’t right!

My cousin Daryl says I don’t have a chance because I am too short to be President.  He says I would have to stand on a brick to kick a duck in the behind!!  He ain’t right either!!

Lastly a note to the drunk lady from Marlow who woke me up from my nap today to inform me by telephone that she thought all my making fun of the various candidates was stupid and seniors don’t really care about what I think.  Never did I intend to offend anyone with this writing.  Seems the late night TV hosts don’t cut any slack when it comes to making fun of these guys.  So why should I?  I’m not amused when they start talking about “safety net” issues for seniors!!  I am sorry if anyone gets their feathers ruffled over such weighty issues.  As for this drunk, empty dress who disturbed my nap today, maybe she should first check with her doctor to see if her anti-depressants are in balance, then get herself another case of Budweiser for tonight and she will feel fine in the morning.  After that she might get herself a job as nose-picker for Sarah Palin and maybe her time would be more well spent than reading the Dibble Senor Citizens News!

All for now....
