The highlight of Once Upon A Dream 19 will be a live auction with OU Vice President for Development Tripp Hall and Fine Arts Dean Rich Taylor as auctioneers. A few of the auction items are a one-night stay at the Colcord Hotel and brunch for two on the following day, an Oxford blazer from Mr. Ooley’s in OKC, a collection in the Ballets Russes Archive named for the highest bidder, a king suite and Sunday brunch for two at the Montford Inn, a pair of American Airline tickets for anywhere in the 48 contiguous US states, a sunrise or sunset hot air balloon ride for two with champagne, and dinner for six in the home of gourmet chefs Sherry and Dr. Eugene Enrico, with after dinner classical guitar entertainment by Larry Hammett.
Food and eating play a significant role in a dancer’s life and Dream 19 will be no exception. Dinner will encompass many courses with New York Strip as one main entrée and dessert served in a martini glass. The menu is supervised by Chef Andrew Black, Vice President of Culinary Operations at Williams & Associates Hospitality LLC, where he oversees and organizes culinary assignments for such clients as the Colcord Hotel and Devon Energy.

Single event tickets are $180 per person. Individual Parton tickets are $280 per person and provide an evening program recognition, priority seating and a special student assigned for the academic year. Dream Tables are $1,440, which includes a table for eight, priority seating, season program listing and event program recognition for table hosts. Celebration Tables are $2,240 and consist of priority seating, season program listing, evening program recognition for table hosts and special guest status at the SOD spring banquet, plus a special student liaison during the academic year. Music and dance performances from the repertories of SOD’s Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma will provide entertainment for Once Upon A Dream 19.
The University of Oklahoma’s program in dance was founded in 1963 by Yvonne Chouteau and Miguel Terekhov, former principal dancers with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. What had been a department became the School of Dance in 1998 with Mary Margaret Holt as Director. Undergraduate and graduate dance majors, along with general education students, total approximately 1000 enrollees in dance classes per semester. The School of Dance’s state-of-the-art facility in the Donald W. Reynolds Performing Art Center was completed in 2005.
