Santa's Workshop is gearing for the holiday

The Express-Star

— It’s that time of year. As we all gear up for the Christmas holidays it is once again time to ask for your help remembering those less fortunate children in our community that will have little or no Christmas without your support.

We have been very fortunate in Grady County since 1983. That was the first year that Santa’s Workshop was fully operational, providing toys for the children of Grady County.  Through the tireless efforts, thousands of donated hours, and the generosity of individuals and groups,  Santa’s Workshop has provided two new toys for every underprivileged child in Grady County for the last 29 years.

Santa’s Workshop relies completely on financial support gathered from our community. Through your contribution, many children’s lives will be touched. Something even better than that, is you will have given each of these children a small moment away from their own environment and have let them believe in Santa Claus.

We need financial support from organizations and individuals like you. The elves that shop do an excellent job and the merchants are very cooperative and generous. In the past we have been able to provide each child a large gift ($20 or less) and a small ($5 or less). Last year Santa’s Workshop provided gifts for 1203 children.

Applications will be available at WIC, DHS, Health Department, and head start on Nov. 1, 2012.  The store will be opened Dec. 18-21  If you have any questions about Santa’s Workshop or would like to volunteer this year please call 222-1818 and ask for Malinda or Peggy.  Donations can be mailed to Santa’s Workshop, P.O. Box 854, Chickasha, Ok 73023.

Santa’s Workshop would like to thank you for your continued and future support.
