Something Worthwhile features Mini-Mall on Oct. 2

The Express-Star

— YES, that’s right!  Something Worthwhile (SWW) will have a ‘Mini-Mall’ at its Tues., Oct. 2 meeting!

Fifteen ladies from the area who have ‘home businesses’ will make up the ‘SWW Mini-Mall’.  Shopping begins at 4:30 in the Epworth Church Life Center and the community is invited to come and make some early holiday gift purchases!

There is no fee to ‘stop and shop’ from 4:30-6:00 pm, but for anyone who wishes to stay for the meal and program, a reservation is required and must be made by Fri., Sept. 28. Details for making reservations are given below.

A home-cooked meal will be served at 6:00 and will be followed by a delightful music program and inspirational presentation. At 8:00 pm the ‘SWW Mini-Mall’ will be reopened and will remain open until approximately 8:30.

The music program will be presented by Amy Haskins, flutist, and Dr. Jan Hanson, USAO Music Professor, will accompany her on the piano. Both are active in the First Christian Church of Chickasha.

Featured speaker for the evening is local resident Cindy Talley Andrulonis, a member of First Baptist Church. She will be sharing her family’s journey through the dark valley of addiction to the mountain of recovery - ‘Today is a Good Day’. Cindy has been a practicing dental hygienist for 29 years. She is married to Dan and is the mother of two sons, Conner and Collin.

Reservations are required to attend each Something Worthwhile ladies’ event and are accepted until all tickets are sold OR until the deadline time of 3:00 pm on Fri., Sept 28, 2012.  Seating is limited.

All reservations and cancellations are made with Judy Parrish, at j6410p@gmail.com, 224-2701 or 250-2775.

Each guest is asked to please honor her reservation, or if unable to attend, share it with a friend or contact the reservations chairman, Judy Parrish, so those on the waiting list may come.

The total meal cost is $5.50, which is paid at the door.

Available again this year is the ‘2012-13 Season Pass’, which includes the remaining seven Something Worthwhile events for a total of $38.50.  SWW events are held on the first Tuesday of Sept. through Dec. and Feb. through May.

Season passes may be purchased from Carol F. at Hairy's 222-1611 and Joyce B. at 224-6225 as well as at the SWW event on Oct. 2.

This year free childcare is available only for children ages 3 through 8 years during the SWW meeting. Childcare reservations must be made with Judy Parrish. Parents are asked to bring their children’s meals for the evening, as they are not included.
