The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board honored the Oklahoma Corporation Commission District III Field Office Thursday for its help fulfilling the board’s main mission – restoring abandoned and orphaned well sites.

One of the people recognized was Ronald Cole of Chickasha.

District III, based in Duncan and covering southwest Oklahoma, submitted 74 sites for remediation in 2007. These sites resulted in 60 clean-up projects in the region. Darrel Martin of Purcell was named the district’s Outstanding Field Inspector for turning in 21 of those projects for consideration – the most of any District III field inspector last year. Sixteen percent of all sites submitted in 2007 came from the District III office.

Other field inspectors honored Thursday for submitting one to 11 projects were Alvin Adamson of Blair; Terrell Bolles of Ardmore; Jay Christian of Ardmore; Phillip Fisher of Duncan; Willie Julian of Fort Cob; Bobby Ramirez of Comanche; Carl Saucier of Cement; Tom Searcy of Marlow and Steve Turner of Elmore City.

Ron Smith of Duncan was honored with a “Dirty Dozen” award for submitting at least 12 projects.
