Martha Seaton of Chickasha and Shawna Barnes of Tahlequah would like to announce the engagement of April Seaton to Danny Cooksey, both of Lexington.

April is a 2001 graduate of Chickasha High School and earned her CLEET certification in 2010. She is currently a deputy at the Grady County Sheriff’s Department where she enjoys her career in law enforcement. April also has a son, Nick.

Danny was a police officer for seven years at the Lexington Police Department from 2005 - 11. During his career, he earned his basic instructor certification and specialized in teaching law enforcement driver training. Danny was also a Lexington firefighter from 1986 - 2009 and retired as Lieutenant. Currently, he is working in the oilfield for Horizon Energy Services. Danny has three daughters, Katricia, Stephanie and Krystal and two sons, Aaron and Cody.

April and Danny started dating in March of 2011 and Danny popped the question in August of 2011 while April was taking a break on duty in Chickasha.

The happy couple will have a small wedding in Eureka Springs Ark.. on March 17, 2012 and plan to have a reception in June to celebrate with family and friends.

Danny and April will continue to make their home in Lexington.
