A semi-truck driver crashed at the Chickasha Toll Gate around 2 a.m. on Sunday.
The Volvo Semi Truck was eastbound on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. The driver failed to slow for the Chickasha Toll Gate, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The semi struck the toll's attenuator, then a concrete wall and elements of the toll gate structure, the report said.
The driver was transported by Medi-Flight to the OU Medical Center and admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.
The cause of the collision is listed as inattention by OHP.
In addition to OHP, the Chickasha Fire Department and Chickasha EMS responded to the scene.
