The class Christmas party gift exchange is the highlight of the year for many young students.

The Pioneer first grade class decided to show an act of generosity and donate their party to Life Choices Chickasha, their teacher, Candra Ryans, said.

Instead of buying gifts for each other, the students collected baby items that will help many families in need. The gifts included formula, baby food, diapers, baby wipes, pacifiers, baby lotion, baby shampoo, and baby body wash.

More than 30 first graders—and their teacher Mrs. Ryans, Debbie Hightower, teacher's aide Tory Crawford and Principal/Superintendent/bus driver Mike Sparks—boarded a bus packed with baby items.

Brenda Short, Executive Director of Life Choices, said the center is constantly in need of these items. When the supply runs short, Life Choices must purchase these items to keep them in stock.

The class hand-delivered the items to Life Choices Chickasha  and carried the boxes to the supply room.

Short said when moms and dads come to Life Choices, they take parenting classes to earn Baby Bucks. These Baby Bucks are exchanged for the baby items.
