A Ninnekah man died in a crash with a semi-truck on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike during an improper u-turn, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Sean McCoy, 28, was westbound on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike at mile marker 104, one mile south of Newcastle city limits in McClain County. McCoy allegedly attempted to make a u-turn and was struck by a westbound semi-truck loaded with cattle. McCoy's vehicle rolled at least a half-time before coming to rest. McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
The driver and passenger in the semi-truck were not injured, according to OHP.
The collision happened around 4:36 a.m. and the H.E. Bailey Turnpike westbound lane at mile marker 104 was closed between 5 a.m. and 6:35 a.m., the report said.
