FOOD FOR HEART

"O taste and see that the Lord is good." – Psalms 34:8

— Matthew 18:11 "For the Son of Man is come to seek and save that which was lost." The "that" which is spoken of here in the Word is you and I, my friend.

Have you ever been lost? I mean six year old at the amusement park can't find your parents kind of lost. At every turn you feel there is danger when every face is the face of a stranger. Concern quickly turns to panic as you gradually become aware that nothing you can see, touch, hear or feel is familiar. Fear begins to well up in your stomach and seems to sufficate you as it makes its way into your throat. Your eyes fill with tears of hoplessness, and you cry out. Help me! Somebody please help me! I AM LOST!

If you've never felt it, surely you've heard it. It's the cry of a lost and dying world. It's the cry of mankind lost deep in despair and helplessness. It's the cry of a hurting brother or sister lost in a world void of compassion, mercy and goodwill. It's the cry of a human heart lost without hope, faith or charity. It's the cry of a destitute soul lost in sin and darkness. It's the cry our Father God heard and His Son Jesus Christ answered.

Luke 2:10 "And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."

With the birth of Jesus Christ and the acceptance of Him as our personal Savior we may from time to time find ourselves by ourselves and in unfamiliar territory, however, as born again Believers we will never be alone or lost again.

I said to the man who stood at the gate, "I am lost, give me a lamp that I might find my way", he replied, "go your way and put your hand in the hand of God, which is better than a lamp and safer than a known way." Author Unknown.

A very Merry Christmas to each and everyone, and may God bless us one and all.
