The Epworth United Methodist Women were welcomed back from the summer break by President Dianna Anderson on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 11:30 a.m. A delicious covered dish luncheon was hosted by the Suzanna Wesley group.
Opening prayer and devotional was given by Sue Winslow. Prayer cards were signed by those present and sent to those known to have special payer needs as well as birthday cards for Epworth School teachers.
Joyce Belville introduced the speaker, Steven Clark from Waste Connections. He gave a brief history of the company and explained the new services that were launched Sept. 3 in Chickasha. Not only are the services a benefit to the citizens of Chickasha, they will also make our city a much cleaner place/ He also ooh numerous questions from the audience.
The business meeting was conducted by Anderson. Plans were finalized for the next fund raisers and for UMW Sunday.
Upcoming events for United Methodist Women are as follows: Sept. 9 fund raiser dinner; Sept. 15 UMW South Oklahoma City District Meeting at Purcell; Sept. 30 UMW Sunday with Jennifer Long as the speaker and a garage sale on Oct. 5.
The next general meeting is Oct. 4 with Group 1 in charge of the luncheon.
